The New Table

Well here we go again.
Back a few months ago. Jen and I were out and about looking at antiques. We had been looking for a few different pieces for our new home in Ajax. We were looking for a kitchen table, a coffee table, and a table for using as a computer desk. So there we were at a place called Red Rock Antiques, which is just out side of Fendlin Falls. Jen saw this ugly green table, with a rough top and shaky legs. My first thought was that it was a piece of junk, but Jen saw the potential in it. We talked about it and then went to the owner and started the negotiations. They wanted $50 for it but Jen and i got them down to $30 and we took it.
We got the table back to Jen's parents house at Balsam Lake and unloaded this ugly table. Jen and I talked about it on the way to the Lake that it would be the new Computer desk. So we had Jen's Dad take a look at it and right there he helped me start to refinish it. We pulled the top layer of press board off and tossed it. We then looked at the top layer of wood and it looked really warped and old. So i started to sand it all down. I even sanded the legs, which had the ugly green colour on them.
The following week Dad told me that he had another look at the table and said that the top of the table was to far gone and to rip the whole top of the table off. So we did! Dad gave Jen and I a few idea's for the top. We took the bottom of the table and attached fresh new planks of Pine. Jen's Dad help to put it together, then we counter sink ed the nails and filled with wood filler.
After a few weekends of painting, Staining, and sealing the table we hooked up a little shelf for the key board to go in and out from under the table.
Then it was finished and we were able to bring it home. It looks amazing with the computer and everything. I even have more room on the table and I love it.
If you ever get the chance to see Jen and I ask about the computer table and we would love to show all.
